• You’re part of the leadership team of a corporation. Your association is a corporation; and, although you’re not running Microsoft or AT&T, you’re still a corporate board member, responsible for running a business. Your investors are your association members, and you’re responsible for maximizing the return on their investment—their homes.
• You’re an elected official. Your association likely provides some services that traditionally were provided by local government. That makes you similar to a town council member (or the mayor, if you’re the president), responsible for ensuring that services are provided and that rules are appropriate and fairly applied. Daniel Miske, CCAL is an attorney in the Milwaukee office of Husch Blackwell LLP where he co-leads it’s Condominium and HOA Law Team. Mr. Miske is a member of the College of Community Association Lawyers, which consists of less than 150 attorneys nationwide. He is an AV rated attorney (the highest rating) in Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America – Real Estate and Commercial Litigation for several years. Mr. Miske represents condominiums and HOA’s throughout Wisconsin. He has been involved in the CAI-WI chapter since 2006 and is a past president. He is currently serves as CAI-WI’s Treasurer.

Karen Skoric, CPA, Cantey Associates: Karen has 22 years of experience with condominium, town home, and homeowner associations. Served on CAI - Illinois Board of Directors, 2004-2009. Past President of CAI - Illinois, 2007. Currently serving on two CAI-Illinois committees: the Finance Committee and Homeowner Forum Committee. Past chair of the Membership Committee. Currently serving on the CAI-Wisconsin Membership Committee and Board of Directors from 2014-2019. Coauthored the IICLE Taxation Chapter for Associations. Teaches ACTHA's Learn and Lead Financial Aspects Course. Has held numerous speaking engagements with CAI-Illinois, including ABC Essentials. Member of the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

Carissa Pezewski, CMCA, MPC Property Management: Carissa is the Director of Community Associations with MPC Property Management in Burlington, Wisconsin. Ms. Pezewski manages her own portfolio of condominium and homeowner associations additionally works with the transition of new accounts. MPC Property Management manages condominium and homeowner’s associations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Carissa currently serves on the CAI-WI Education & Programs Committee and Magazine Committee.
